Artists who are Visually Impaired:

  • George Covington - Born legally blind, with less than ten percent of normal vision, George A. Covington first achieved national media attention for his work in using photography as a seeing tool. He has taught photography workshops at various locations such as Harlem Hospital and the Smithsonian Institution.
  • Tara Arlene Innmon - After her paintings were accepted by Art of the Eye, Tara Arlene Innmon was hooked on art. She took up painting and then she got glaucoma and her eyesight began to fade. As her eyesight diminished, she tried several assistive devices in order to continue with her painting. She resorted to using monoculars for proportion and masking tape to block out colors.
  • Theatre by the Blind - Theatre by the Blind is an integrated company of blind, visually impaired, and sighted artists dedicated to finding, developing, and exhibiting blind theatrical talent.
  • Lynn Manning - Lynn Manning is an award winning playwright, poet, athlete and actor who is blind.
  • Lisa Fittipaldi - a blind painter.
